Talent Retention Scheme set to aid growth in the construction industry

17th July 2020

As the country starts to emerge from the Coronavirus pandemic where many businesses have simply been striving to survive, the new focus is likely to become one of growth.  Many bodies and institutions around the world are therefore looking to offer help in bringing the economy up to full speed again and ensuring that it becomes even stronger upon exiting the pandemic.  As an example, if you are an avid reader of our blogs at Whiting & Partners (and who isn’t!) you will have seen the Rebound and Recover Business Training Programme discussed as a way of supporting business owners in their drive to emerge from the pandemic and start to grow their businesses again.

One of the newest bodies to offer support is the Construction Leadership Council, who are about to launch their Talent Retention Scheme, aimed specifically at the construction industry.  This looks set to be an online portal capable of dealing with all your recruitment needs.  Businesses that register for the portal will receive access to a dedicated resourcing and talent management platform to assist with recruitment and skills development activities across all sectors of construction.  Businesses will be able to use the platform to search for and recruit staff, as well as promote an unlimited number of vacancies, and it allows for direct communication between the business and potential candidates.  There are also plans for tailored company pages and microsites which give an added marketing benefit!

Therefore whether you’re looking to replace staff who were sadly made redundant during the pandemic, to recruit new staff to cope with a backlog of work following the lockdown, or simply to push forward with planned growth, the platform sounds like a useful tool.  The best part is that, due to Government backing, all services of the Talent Retention Scheme are initially free until April 2021!

You can find more details regarding the Talent Retention Scheme and register your interest in advance of the planned launch towards the end of July at https://www.trs-system.co.uk/construction .
